Because DC has so many episodes they don't have anymore good reasons for the crimes. The cases are good but the story and reasons of the cases are just ridiculous and outrageous.

I agree. But I guess like with any shows, there are good and bad episodes. But yeah, the motives aren't always good.

For instance, the last canon episode, the wife kills her husband because the husband said one cruel comment to her then boyfriend. The boyfriend then kills himself. The motive is pretty ridiculous. The husband wouldn't have known that the boyfriend would kill himself and it wasn't like an ongoing thing - it was just one comment. There were several others too.

There are other episodes where the evidence is flimsy and even ruined because Conan or the other characters are just touching it all over and the suspect just screams, "Yeah! I did it!"

However, there are some really good episodes where the motive would make anyone want to kill the guy. The setup is near perfect and they probably would have gotten away with it if it weren't for Conan.

So I guess we take the good with the bad episodes.

But yes, totally agree with you.

in japans justice system if they confess they can be convicted even if the evidence supporting the confession is flimsy or even absent, Conan doesn't need actual evidence he just needs to make the culprit think he does and confess, then they can be convicted. This causes huge problems in reality because innocent people can be tortured into giving confessions for crimes they didn't commit its horrible but if you think about this fact a lot of the flimsy 'evidence' in this show makes sense.

My least favorite case is the one where conan ,kogoro ,ran have to deal with that crop case

SShields • 1 year ago

I don't remember that case. Was it a filler?

strange guy • 1 year ago

It’s when they go on the roof of a building

strange guy • 1 year ago

Yeah I never forgot that because detective Conan is rarely at a scene like that

I don’t mind that case where the woman killed her husband I enjoyed that case than the ones with kogoro and conan

This case was one of my favourites because i actually knew about Hakkenden from another anime titled Hakkenden: Touhou hakken ibun. The moment i saw dog and 8 poeple i was convinced it referenced Hakkenden folklore!

But if he was mad that nobody was taking care of the castle then why did he kill the woman that died from falling off the cliff when she was stated to be the only one to take care of the castle?
